Diversitas
Diversitas, a new umbrella body was officially launched on 29 June 2023 by CIC with the goal to increase representation of black professionals within CIC networks and the built environment.
Diversitas is chaired by Jessica Taylor (Partner, Ashfords LLP) supported by Vice Chair Gail Royston (Senior Cost Manager, CBRE).
The first member organisations of Diversitas are: DiverseCity Surveyors, Association For Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK), Black Professionals in Construction (BPIC Network) and BAME Planners Network.
Diversitas will look to further increase their membership and raise their own profile to encourage a wider representation of black professionals within the built environment sector. CIC and Diversitas will work together to further the objectives of Diversitas to better our industry.
| Jessica Taylor is a Partner and heads up the London Construction and Infrastructure Team of Ashfords LLP solicitors.
Her work involves the drafting and negotiation of major strategic and operational commercial and construction contracts. | Gail Royston is a talented and dynamic Senior Cost Manager with over nine years' experience and an immpressive track record working on commercial office space, retail, data centres, large high profile residential and hotel projects. Gail has worked as a Cost Manager in multiple countries including New Zealand, Malaysia, France, Spain and England. Gail is passionate about diversity in the construction industry and has been working with CIC for the past few years to improve the construction industry. |
Founding Members
Diversitas was developed by the Diversity in the Built Environment Working Group which was created in November 2022 with the goal of identifying and meeting with relevant groups within the built environment industry which Diversitas will now take forward.
